9+CO Receives 2025 Mayor’s Design Award

9 April 2025

DENVER – With more than 200 in attendance, Mayor Mike Johnston honored the best in architecture and design during the 2025 Mayor’s Design Awards ceremony tonight at the Studio Loft of the Denver Performing Arts Complex. The mayor presented awards to 12 winners in nine categories and recognized 11 honorable mentions, selected from 27 official nominees for 2025.

9+CO (9th and Colorado) has been recognized with a 2025 Mayor’s Design Award, honoring the project’s contribution to open space, active streetscapes, and thoughtful placemaking.

The 9+CO development reimagines the former medical campus into a walkable, mixed-use destination—where vibrant streetscapes, active green spaces, and human-scale design shape an inclusive urban experience. This award recognizes the power of public space to strengthen community, connect neighborhoods, and bring people together.

We’re proud to have collaborated on this vision with Continuum Partners, LLC and CIM Group, and alongside design and building partners at SAR+ Architects, Gensler, Dig Studio, Saunders Construction, Kiewit, and Catamount Constructors.

Thank you to Mayor Johnston and the City and County of Denver for celebrating projects that elevate the public realm and inspire future placemaking efforts.
