2018 YEAR IN REVIEW

Driven by unmatched client vision and goals, our team envisioned and executed projects spanning SEVEN TYPOLOGIES, THREE COUNTRIES, FOUR STATES and SEVEN Colorado cities and towns this year. Our “favorites list” begins with FIVE immersive projects opening their doors: The Michael Smith Building at the Warner College of Natural Resources (academic, lab, higher education), The St. Paul Collection (multi-family residential, retail including elite tenants like SOULCYCLE, Le Bilboquet, and CB2), Aviano Coffee (experiential retail), The Village at White River Junction (active senior living), and Circus Zambia (mixed-use, entertainment); we also had our first block of the 9th & Colorado Redevelopment (retail, restaurant) break ground.

Our team expanded with SEVEN NEW 4240ers and we celebrated DJ Gratzer for his leadership advancement to Senior Associate, as well as, Emily Chastain, Cory Bruce, and Ryan Anderson for becoming licensed architects.

Felix Tannenbaum was awarded the inaugural Hooman Aryan Traveling Scholarship, Principal Matt Cecere chaired the AIA Colorado Practice + Design Conference located in Keystone Colorado, and our design teams were acknowledged with EIGHT design excellence awards.

Peruse some more 2018 highlights below.

MV WORLD ODYSSEY

Semester At Sea’s MV World Odyssey (10 deck, 175 meter long passenger ship) is atop our most unique projects of 2018—or ever.

4240 was charged with a vision to support student voyagers on their quest to become global citizens; the design team worked within this immersive living and learning environment to elevate classroom group interactions. It was important to create personal connectivity to over 11 port city cultures - textiles, languages, commerce and people - and to further encourage site specific learning on-board this floating classroom.
