Many "on-display" high performance strategies were incorporated into the structure, ranging from solar transpired exterior cladding, to reclaimed beetle-kill pine interior wall panels.

This base village transit project weaves together a diverse range of transit and guest services functions into a comprehensive and phased transit strategic plan. Beginning through a year-long feasibility and transit planning studies, the resultant project clarifies and provides long range transit and guest service improvements within the Lionshead Core. The completed project will balance functional efficiencies between the different transit modes and create a world class guest arrival and portal into the Lionshead core.

Phase 1: These initial improvements redistribute and provide additional transit capacity in Lionshead. This phase is anchored by a new Frontage Road Transit Building (FRTB), streescape and landscape improvements and functional improvements to the existing parking garage. The new FRTB is a simple structure housing passenger waiting, information and services, and an exterior plaza/passenger waiting area. The structure is grounded to the site with a dominant stone base and core. The passenger waiting area is enclosed by a simple glass structure covered by a floating and sheltering roof structure.
